A week-long gathering of the Kullu valley’s village deities at Dhalpur, beginning on Vijayadashami.
Unlike Dussehra elsewhere in India, Kullu’s celebration begins on Vijayadashami and runs for a week. Village deities are carried in palanquins to Dhalpur Maidan to join Raghunath ji, with folk music, traditional dress and Nati dances. Evenings bring cultural programmes, and the fairground fills with stalls selling local crafts and produce.
